How do I search for media and music materials in the library catalog?
|
Author Search |
Searches for authors, performers, producers, directors, or anyone who had a hand in the creation of the recording or video. Also searches for distribution and production companies.
Must be inputted: LAST NAME, FIRST NAME
|
| Keyword Search |
Searches for words within the title, subject, or contents notes. Use this to find works within a compilation, or the opus or Kochel number of a specific piece
|
| Title Search |
Searches for EXACT titles of videos or album titles. If you don't know the EXACT title, use a Keyword search.
|
| Subject Search |
Searches for films ABOUT your subject. You must use the EXACT Library of Congress subject heading (when in doubt, use a Keyword search):
|
| Call Number Search |
Searches for items by their call number. Music recording and score call numbers must be searched under Local Call No., Videos and CD-ROMs under Library of Congress Call No. |
| Author/Title Search |
This is useful if you know an actor's or producer's name and the beginning of an EXACT title. N.B.: much of the time, this will not find music items.
