Special Collections and Archives collects, preserves, and provides access to rare books, manuscripts, college archives, and other primary source materials with enduring historical value. We are located in room L014 in the Reed College Library. Use the staircase D or elevator from the library lobby to reach us in the basement on Lower Level 2.
Special Collections and Archives will begin offering limited access to the Reed students, staff, and faculty on January 25th, 2021. Special Collections and Archives staff are committed to making resources available while ensuring the safety of patrons and staff. To this end, we have established new procedures for viewing and handling materials.
We expect that guidelines for archives and special collections may change during the course of the semester as government agencies and the college issue additional directives. All services are contingent upon the availability of staffing and the library being open.
