Betmax

The Sony Betamax, introduced in the US in 1975, was the predecessor of the VHS home-recording system, and was the better option for recording for many technical reasons. Betamax and VHS entered a “format war” in the late 1970s, and Betamax ended up losing and vanishing into obscurity. This Betamax is a recording of a dance performance by Reed alum and successful dancer Jose Vernon Brown.
