Reed College Farm
The Reed College Campus Farm existed in the earlier days of the College, up until the 1950s. The map is part of a larger report assessing the viability of the farm. During the era of the farm, the campus strived to be self-sufficient. In 1952, the farm spanned 23.5 acres and grew a number of crops, including strawberries, raspberries, loganberries, cherries, and holly, and even cultivated honey. From 1937 to 1954, the farm brought in $53,297.36. This is equal to about half a million dollars in today's dollars. The map above displays the layout of the farm.
