The Impoverished Students' Cookery Book

The Impoverished Students' Cookery Book was written by Jay Rosenberg '63 during his senior year at Reed. He later expanded upon the first book in a 1965 release. In the book's introduction, Rosenberg states, "The impoverished student may be technically defined as an individual who loves to eat, hates to cook, and cannot really afford to do either." The book offers several simple, low cost recipes. On the page above, there is a recipe for chalupas "for when the faculty comes over." At the bottom of the page, there is a recipe for infinite basic dressing. Other recipes from the book include spiced water, what-the-hell-do-you-do-with liver, and howmany casserole.
