The Relationship Between Student Grades and Parental Educational Attainment

In the graph above, the relationship between parents’ educational level and Reed students’ grades is compared between the 1936 to 1939 and 1946 to 1951 time periods. The graph was included in a report on the relationship between parental educational level and student performance. The findings of this study, perhaps in contrast to other data from earlier periods, remain relevant today.
