Distribution of Students According to Divisional Major by Year of Entry

This Self-Study committee sought to understand and address the problem of attrition at Reed in the 1950s. Their report relied on student records, a questionnaire, interviews, a time study, and special reports to answer their questions. The final product included several carefully constructed visual representations of the data, including Figure 4, which outlined the distribution of students in each division for the 1936 to 1939 years of entry and the 1946 to 1540 years of entry.
