Natural History of Many Curious and Uncommon Zoophytes

Part of the College's Rare Book collection, Natural History of Many Curious and Uncommon Zoophytes by John Ellis was a 1786 book documenting plant species around the globe. Table 1, an excerpt from the book, provides handwritten details and illustrations of the observed specimens. While fieldwork and data collection may look somewhat different today, these observations constituted some of England's knowledge of the natural world around the globe at the timea time marked by the country's colonial and imperial endeavors.
